Getting to open doors
Learn about progress towards our goal and our site vision below.
Government Relations
We are working closely with our government representatives to negotiate operational funding for Eli’s Place.
Securing our home
A property search is underway. Our goal is to secure a property this year.
Refining our model
Our model of treatment and recovery is based on 108 years of experience at The Gould Farm. Refinement will be made to the work program components based on the property we purchase.
Effective governance
Eli’s Place has an experienced and skilled board of directors who are committed to opening by April 1, 2024.
Capital campaign
Eli’s Place will launch a Capital Campaign in the near future. The funds will be used to purchase our property and renovate/construct the buildings required to open Eli’s Place.
Annual fundraising
Annual fundraising is crucial to our success. Please join us as a volunteer and donor to make Eli’s Place a reality.
Our site plan
Early 2022, Eli’s Place will launch a Capital Campaign to purchase the property, create the purpose-built facilities, and develop the farming and social enterprise programs for the long-term rural residential treatment and recovery farm program.
Central to the community will be a warm and welcoming Activities Centre that will act as the hub with generous spaces for programs such as arts therapy, music therapy and a computer lab. The Centre will house a communal dining room and industrial kitchen along with a large friendly Great Room for socializing.
Residence and facilities
Clients at Eli’s Place will stay in one of three Houses, each providing space for a live-in Residential Advisor. Residential lodging will accommodate up to 40 clients with two respite bedrooms reserved for past participants requiring short-term follow-up support.
Plans for Eli’s Place also include a Barn and Workshop – activity hubs where valuable learning and skills training will take place.
Programs and environment
The buildings, will be located in an area allowing us to develop our social enterprise and eco-tourism programs. Program examples include an organic farm, maple syrup program, bee hives and Christmas tree farm creating a peaceful, healing environment for clients as they work on the farm programs, learn how to manage their mental illnesses and thrive.
