Strengthening Our Working Team 

In addition to our Executive Director and seasoned board, our team is now comprised of almost 100 volunteers contributing to a range of committees and working groups and our vital Professional and Peer Advisory Councils.

Advancing on Program Delivery

To provide immediate support to young adults currently living with mental health challenges and fulfill a key element of the Eli’s Place model related to post-residency transitional care, we explored bringing the Australia-initiated GROW program to Canada.

Building Partnership & Government Relations

Working with a leading consultancy firm, we are now actively connecting with government agencies in the Ministry of Health and Members of Parliament who have input into the health and wellbeing of young adults. This work is critical to securing the ongoing operational funding to enable full access to care. We are also advancing on strategic partnerships key to maximizing our impact and efficacy.

Progressing to Capital Campaign Readiness 

We engaged fundraising expertise to complete essential campaign planning work for a capital campaign. This work brings us one big step closer to launching our campaign to raise funds required to purchase our property, build the needed facilities, and support year one of our operations. Now within a year of our campaign launch, our Campaign Readiness Task Force will soon recruit our Capital Campaign Cabinet.

Exploring Alternative Financing

Eli’s Place will be the first of its kind in Canada. It is born out of a theory of change and based on practices proven effective abroad. We will have impact measurement day one and a vision to be a center of excellence for communities across Canada. Best practices are in our DNA. Thus, our board completed training on emerging funding models and established a task force to explore social enterprise opportunities.

Growing Our Engaged Supporter Community 

We now have almost 2,000 supporters whom we regularly engage through our Recovery Matters email program and are rapidly building awareness on social media where over 3,000 individuals follow us. Your generous financial support and willingness to spread the word is moving us forward.
